On Thursday (12), an Alaska Airlines flight narrowly avoided a potential runway collision with a Southwest Airlines plane at Nashville International Airport. Alaska Airlines flight AS369, bound for Seattle, was cleared for takeoff but had to abort quickly when Southwest Airlines flight WN2029 was cleared to cross the runway.

Saudi Arabia’s new national airline, Riyadh Air, has officially begun operating noncommercial flights as it prepares for its full launch next year. The airline’s inaugural flight, RXI5003, took off on Thursday from Riyadh to Jeddah as part of the process to secure its Air Operator Certificate (AOC), a requirement set by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
