U.S Reopens Borders and Sees Double-Digit Growth in International Flights

After 20 months of severe restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States, on Monday, November 8, reopened its borders to fully immunized international travelers. Entry to the US now requires all travelers to compulsorily undergo COVID-19 testing with samples taken within 72 hours before their departure from a foreign country.
Based on AirNav RadarBox flight statistics (U.S. - NON-US flights), we've observed that the international flights to the U.S. experienced a +52.09% increase between October 30 and November 5 compared to the previous year.
In the same period, 29,736 international flights were tracked by RadarBox, with a daily average of approximately 4,248 flights operated from abroad to the country.

Also, according to our data, we estimate that between November 6 and November 12, a growth of 51.84% is expected, corresponding to 29,974 flights (4,282 flights daily). RadarBox future flight statistics projections are highly accurate and based on data from previous years for a given period consulted.

With regards to domestic air traffic, 172,095 commercial flights were recorded in the U.S. during the past week, an average of about 24,585 flights daily. However, although domestic flights are much more numerous than international flights, U.S. - NON-US flights' growth statistics are 5.92% higher than internal flights.
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic celebrate U.S. reopening
This week, Monday (08), the A350-1000 from British Airway and Virgin Atlantic took off simultaneously from London Heathrow (LHR), the first-ever commercial double take-off from London (LHR) to New York (JFK), to symbolize the return of flights to the U.S. after 20 months of restrictions.
