U.S Domestic Air Traffic Posts Strong Growth in December 2021

AirNav RadarBox data has indicated that the number of domestic flights in the U.S. saw a 34.05% growth last week as compared to the same period in 2020. These figures represent 88% of pre-pandemic air travel levels. 

Between December 11-17, 170,142 domestic flights were tracked in the U.S., higher than last year's 126,924 flights but lower than the 193,627 flights recorded in 2019 in the same period. 

Domestic U.S. flights have been experiencing an increase of approximately 1,000-1,100 flights weekly on average as the holiday season approaches and the trend is likely to continue.

For US-NON US flights, the number of flights has posted a positive growth corresponding to 29.11% over last year, totaling 31,143 international flights in this period (December 11-17). 

2019: 5705 flights daily (39,935 flights)

2020: 3446 flights daily (24,122 flights)

2021: 4449 flights daily (31,143 flights)
