Rescued from the brink of insolvency, Indian carrier Jet Airways carried out its first test flight after a 3-year gap in a step towards obtaining the air operator certificate as it prepares to resume operations later this year.
Yesterday, on April 5th, a Boeing 737-85R (VT-SXE) operated by Jet Airways took off from Hyderabad (HYD / VOHS) at 18:13 (IST) for New Delhi (DEL/VIDP), to check aircraft safety aspects.

Sanjiv Kapoor, CEO of Jet Airways, said that the Indian carrier wants to resume flights in the third quarter of 2022 (July-September), with plans for a full-service airline that can compete with the fares of low-cost carriers. “A very emotional moment for all the wonderful folks who have been working hard to get Jet back in the skies,” commented him on Twitter.
