Featured ADS-B Feeder for October 2022: Gabriel (PGANRB500921) - Puerto Rico
Gabriel J. Vélez, our ADS-B Feeder in Puerto Rico
This month's featured ADS-B feeder is Gabriel J. Vélez, our feeder in San Germán, a historic town and municipality located in the Sabana Grande Valley of the southwestern region of Puerto Rico. Gabriel has been sharing ADS-B data with RadarBox for 2 years and says it is an honor to be part of RadarBox family and to help with the ADS-B coverage on the island.
His setup and antenna are mounted on the rooftop at 126 MSL with a 360º view, obtaining a range of over 200 nautical miles (370 km) covering a large area of Puerto Rico.

Did you know? The population of San Germán, when Alonso Manso was named the first bishop of Puerto Rico in 1511, was "about 50 residents". Outside of San Juan, Puerto Rico, San Germán was one of the largest settlements in the 16th century, as well as Coamo and Aguada.

As seen in the image above, Vélez's station is located in a region with many trees and mountains, but his antenna is installed higher than the treeline.

We asked Gabriel how he found RadarBox and how his e"feeder" experience has been thus far: "I found RadarBox on Google Play about 3 years ago. About my experience with RadarBox, the best thing about having a station is that I can see all the flight in the area. My favorite hobby is sitting and seeing the planes on the map."
