Aeromexico pilot made an unusual request for air traffic control at Schiphol airport

An Aeromexico pilot made a remarkable request to air traffic control at Schiphol last weekend. After departure he wanted to skim over the capital with his Boeing 787 Dreamliner for some sightseeing, as can be heard in a sound clip.

The aircraft was about to fly back from Schiphol to Mexico when the request came to be allowed to fly over the city at an altitude of 1.200 meters after take-off, instead of following the usual flight path.

In the audio clip you can hear how the female air traffic controller reacts in surprise to the pilot's question. Incidentally, the request was not granted. "Otherwise you wake up the whole city."

AeroMexico flight #AMX26 on EHAM Tower with Request (Its 22:30 local time) : ''Is it possible to do some sightseeing out of the departure over Amsterdam @ FL40?''
