The Greek flag carrier, Sky Express, has announced new connections from Milan Malpensa International Airport to Athens International Airport. From October 26, the carrier will connect the two destinations directly with the state-of-the-art 'green' Airbus A320neo and highly competitive fares.

The Athens-based carrier's decision comes almost a year after Rome joined SKY Express' international destination network in response to the passenger public's need for more options. These routes create new opportunities for interaction for both destination and cities, such as for work, study, or tourism, thus lengthening the country's tourist season.

SKY express Revenue and Pricing Manager, Vasilis Krasanakis, commented: "In Italy, a year ago, we created a bridge that boosts tourism and the economy. A decision vindicated by the dynamic response from the passenger public. Staying true to its vision to fly higher every year, SKY express further strengthens its presence in the market by launching the Athens – Milan direct connection and now offering travelers a new, reliable, and cost-effective option."

"We welcome Sky express, a new carrier whose investment in our airport further expands Malpensa's network. The new connections to Athens satisfy the traffic demand to European cities, like Milan, attracting the most dynamic and curious tourism that searches for a complete travel experience. In addition to this connection, Sky Express brings a wider network to the Greek islands, improving the quality of connections already this fall. Offering our market the possibility to discover the Mediterranean with different flavors, scents, and colors compared to those we are used to in the summer". Said Andrea Tucci, Vice President of Aviation Business Development SEA Milan Airports.
