RwandAir Operates Its First Non-Stop Flight From Kigali to London Heathrow

On November 6, RwandAir, the Rwandan flag carrier, operated its first non-stop flight between Kigali Airport and London Heathrow. RwandAir's Airbus A330 (9XR-WN) touched down in London at 07:15 AM (local time) after an eight-hour and 40-minute flight.

The non-stop flight will be operated four times per week. WB711 departs London at 20:30 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The return flight WB710 departs the UK at 23:35 every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

RwandAir's UK manager, Simon Rickman, stated, "We are delighted that today our first non-stop flight landed at London Heathrow. The UK is an incredibly important market for RwandAir because we know these new non-stop services will prove very popular with our customers, who will appreciate our shorter journeys and increased connections to onward destinations across Africa." 

"We are delighted to see RwandAir expand its operations by launching a new non-stop route connecting London and Kigali via Heathrow, the UK's hub airport. It's fantastic that demand for travel is growing again, increasing connectivity for passengers and freight." Added London Heathrow Chief Commercial Officer Ross Baker.

RwandAir launched its flights to London five years ago, initially landing at London Gatwick. However, the carrier changed its hub to London to take advantage of better connections as a busy European hub.
