A head-up display, also known as a HUD, is any transparent display that presents data without requiring users to look away from their usual viewpoints. The origin of the name stems from a pilot being able to view information with the head positioned "up" and looking forward instead of angled down looking at lower instruments. Although they were initially developed for military aviation, HUDs are now used in commercial aircraft, automobiles, and other (primarily professional) applications.

What the feature looks like

The HUD speed is locked for free users showing a static indicator without values or data (speed, altitude, and heading). The horizontal indicator indicates the aircraft's heading (in degrees, for example, 090 or 90º). You can enable or disable this feature by clicking in the upper right corner on "HUD".

With the HUD display open, you can deactivate the display by clicking on "HUD", or enlarge the screen and even close the heads-up display to follow the flight or aircraft on the map.
