During the Dubai Air Show, taking place from November 14 to November 18, Airbus received a large order for the Airbus A350F.

Air Lease Corporation (ALC), an American aircraft leasing company based in Los Angeles, USA, has signed a letter of intent (LOI) for the purchase of 25 - A220-300s, 55 - A321neos, 20 - A321XLRs, 4 - A330neos, including the first seven A350Fs ordered to date. According to sources at the Dubai Air Show, the order will be formalized in the coming months. This order makes ALC one of Airbus' largest customers as well as the launch customer for the A350F.

Furthermore, ALC and Airbus are launching a multi-donor ESG fund initiative that will contribute to the investment of projects aimed at the development of sustainable aviation by addressing the current agendas focused on the environment, mainly related to COP 26, held a few days ago in Glasgow, Scotland with the presence of leaders from various countries around the world in their fight against climate change and the use of fossil fuels.

John Plueger, the CEO and President of Air Lease Corporation, states: "With this major order, we underscore our confidence not only in the strong future and growth of global commercial air transport, but in ALC's business model, in our specific aircraft purchase decisions, including, for the first time, the new A350 Freighter, and finally in our long term view that ordering new aircraft is an optimum investment of our shareholder capital," and concludes: "Moreover, we and Airbus hereby announce the first-ever joint ESG initiative in aircraft procurement by creating a multi-million dollar fund for sustainable aviation development projects critical to the future".
